Sand boarding in South Africa is fast becoming widely accepted as a mainstream sport. Northern Cape’s secret dune locations are gorgeous and many are home to the most beautiful and awesome sand dunes that growing numbers enjoy conquering with their sand boards. Largely similar to snowboarding, sand boarding is the art of standing with two feet locked onto a thin tensile board and sliding down or carving arcs down a dune. After a bit of practice, and most likely a mouthful or two of sand, you’ll be gracefully sliding down majestic sand dunes and maybe even jumping a trick or two! Even if you are not an experienced sand boarder, it is very easy and so much fun to learn! Itinerary
- Catch a ride into the dunes in a luxury 4x4 (No walking is required to get to the large dunes. You will be doing enough walking back up the dunes though!)
- Experience, piloting down the dunes!
- End the day with some ice cold cold drinks and snacks either on the Brull sand dunes at Witsand or the banks of the Orange River!

If you decide to take the day tour, their guides will be close at hand to provide you with the best instruction on correct dune usage and the basic techniques of sand boarding. The venues they use for their sand boarding adventures cater for novices and semi - experienced sand boarders and ensure a fun and memorable day for everyone. Your guide will collect you and drop you off wherever you are staying in the Augrabies Falls, Kakamas, Keimoes, Upingtion area at an additional cost or meet the crew at our departure point in Kakamas! Trip includes equipment, a delicious lunch(only full day, but can be arrange and tailored to fit your adventure needs!) and refreshments.
